2018-19 Fundraiser!

The WMES PTA is very excited to announce our Wildcat House Challenge for our school fundraiser plus academic and character challenges throughout the school year. Last year's event was a resounding success and we're having even more fun this year!

We've partnered with The Get Movin' Crew to offer you a fantastic, personalized fundraising site! Signing up is free and enters your student into our prize raffle!

Our Pep Rally kick off will be on August 31st!

Why should I donate or raise money?

Public funding only goes so far. We rely on the fundraiser to purchase extras which enrich West Madison and your child's education, such as reading programs, science and technology programs, classroom technology and supplies, playground equipment, and more.

This is our only major fundraiser for the year. Having it right after school starts let us use the money immediately to support programs this school year.

What are the houses?

Every student at WMES will draw a wristband with a house: Jaguars, Cheetahs, Cougars, or Panthers. This will be their house throughout their years at West Madison. There will be a series of events throughout the year during which students will compete on behalf of their house. Most of the competitions will be academic in nature, but the first is the fundraiser.

The houses will build friendly competition as well as cross-grade camaraderie! Of course, we never forget that we are Wildcats first!

How does the fundraiser work, and what is The Get Movin' Crew?

We know you're busy, so we've made supporting West Madison as simple as possible. Register here to create your child's custom fundraising webpage, then use the sharing tools to send it out to friends and family. You might be surprised at who donates! Donations can be made with a credit or debit card on this site.

You can also send cash or checks made out to "WMES PTA" into the school. Either use the envelope provided or mark it with your student's name and "fundraiser". You can send cash and check donations as often as you'd like, donations are credited by the end of the day and the envelope will be returned to you in case you'd like to use it again.

No matter how you donate, your student will earn incentives for themselves, their classroom, and their house! The Get Movin' Crew is the fundraising website that makes this possible. It is fully safe and secure, and provides you will all sorts of great features to help you as you help the school!

Is there going to be a fun run?

We got a lot of feedback from parents who didn't like having to follow-up with sponsors to collect pledges, so we decided to go in a different direction this year. Instead of per-lap donations, we're asking for flat donations. Instead of a fun run we're going to have a school-wide party. Instead of cheering on your students, we encourage you to come out and have fun with them! Keep an eye out for the schedule, which will be announced soon.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes, donations support the WMES PTA, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. If you require a tax receipt, please email and we would be happy to send one.

Is there a fee for credit card donations? Does it matter if I pay by credit card, cash, or check?

When paying by credit card, there is an optional $2.50 fee which offsets our processing costs. There is no obligation to pay this fee, but we certainly appreciate it!

We have no costs for processing cash or check (the value of volunteer labor!).

Regardless of method, all donations count the same for incentives. On your student's fundraising page, credit card donations will be updated immediately and cash and check donations will be updated on the day they are received by the PTA.

We have a special treat for the top house!

We also have a raffle for everyone who registered, regardless of donations.

There's a special incentive planned for the top 5th graders!


Our goal for this fundraiser is $20,000, which will fund:

  • Books for the library
  • The Accelerated Reader program and prizes
  • Scholarships for field trips and events
  • Playground equipment
  • PE, art, and music equipment
  • Teacher and staff appreciation
